oversized tailored blazer designed in south africa the piebald boutique

Blazers … the everyday essential

Whether you dress it up (for a business meeting) or down (for a casual lunch with the girls), a blazer is an effortless way to pull off a tailored, elegant look. It’s also a wardrobe staple that’ll never go out of fashion, so when you’re spending your hard-earned moola on a blazer, you know it’ll be in your wardrobe for years to come.

Longer-length, oversized blazers are all the rage at the moment. They give a slouchy silhouette which is a modern take on this timeless classic, but since they’re tailored, they still look oh-so elegant and are sure to pull-together your look whether you want to achieve a smart or super-casual look. Since we’re in the business of helping you to find investment pieces instead of shopping for trends, we’re letting you know this modern take on a timeless classic is so stylish, these blazers will stay in-style for years to come. If you haven’t yet, this is your sign to get your hands on one.

There’s nothing worse than owning (or wanting to own) a piece, and not knowing how to style it! So, we’re helping you out… Here are three ways to style a blazer, depending on whether you’re dressing up or down – or in-between! When the weather warms up, we’ll be pairing our blazer with shorts for a summertime-casual look too. The styling options really are endless, and so effortlessly chic.

1 Get smart for that business meeting

2 Ready to play in a smart kinda way

3 Ready. Set. Meet the girls for lunch

About it
We sourced magnificent suit fabric (it's silky soft to touch) for the blazer which is double-breasted with shiny buttons (these were top of our lists of musts!). There's also a hidden button on the inside of the blazer to button-up. You can also choose to style the pockets in two different ways ... tucked in or out. The sleeves and shoulders are true-to-size while the rest deliberately gives the oversized look. There's a little slit at the back of the blazer for breathing space.

Size it
The blazer comes in S, M and L, and the fit on the sleeves and shoulders are true-to-size. If you would prefer the sleeves to have that oversized look, we suggest upsizing.
Here's a guide for sizing but please keep in mind the body section is deliberately oversized – measurements are in cm:
S – bust 90, waist 73.5, hip 99 (pictured)
M – bust 95, waist 78.5, hip 104
L – bust 100, waist 83.5, hip 109
If you have any concerns about the sizing or would prefer to try on the blazer at the Boutique's home in Kyalami, Johannesburg, please drop us a line on
