There is one piece, however, which we feel is the ultimate investment piece, a wardrobe staple which we go to time and again to elevate our look – whether we’re stepping into the boardroom or popping to the shops after gym. That piece is a Tailored Oversized Blazer.
First worn by women in 1889 when the members of the Lady Margaret Boat Club coined the name ‘blazer’ for their red club jackets, this piece is somewhat of a power piece. By the 1940s, oversized blazers with boxy fits, longer hemlines and rounded collars became popular … and they’ve been a staple in wardrobes and on runways ever since.
